• The Institute of Structural Engineering is one of three Institutes of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Poznan University of Technology. The Institute is a unit of research and teaching, employing about 90 people.

  • Employees of the Institute deliver lectures; example, design and laboratory classes, as well as seminars in all fields of studies at the Faculty and supervise diploma theses in two specialties: structural engineering and construction technology and management, both on M.Sc. and B.Sc. levels. An important element of the teaching is also conducting classes for doctoral students, including supervising of doctoral dissertations.

  • At full-time studies, elective subjects are proposed, allowing students to deepen their knowledge in selected areas as: structure design according to the Eurocodes; methods of design, advanced methods of numerical analysis of the structure; finite element method; modern timber, metal and reinforced concrete structures; modernization of historic buildings as well as marketing and management in the construction industry.

  • The Institute is a research unit conducting research within the framework of statutory tasks. The results of the scientific activity is achieving scientific degrees: Ph.D., D.Sc. and Full-Professor.

  • The Institute provides services in the field of: testing and validation of materials and structural elements; expertise on technical conditions of buildings and structures; technical advice in matters of technology, materials, billing, consulting executive, costing and valuation of real estate; designing of general, agricultural and industrial structures; optimization of structures and the use of numerical methods and computer techniques.

  • The Institute offers postgraduate studies and organizes courses and vocational training on current topics by reported demand.
